Mother Earth Brewing to release Silent Night on tap
The Silent Night Day 2013 release party is happening Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
Mother Earth Brewing is introducing its seasonal Silent Night brew on tap this year.
The brew is a bourbon-barrel aged Imperial Stout. Previous years from 2010-2012 will also be available on tap for 4-year vertical tastings.
Also new will be this year’s Silent Night brew available for purchase in 750 ml bottles at $16 each. There will be a limit of three bottles per person.
Mother Earth’s newest brew will include the added flavor — coffee — in a new blend for 2013 by Counter Culture Coffee in Durham.
Matt Souza of Counter Culture will be making lattes, Americanos and other coffee drinks in the Tap Room.
A special feature will be Executive Chef Keith Rhodes, owner of Catch of Modern Seafood in Wilmington, who will be bringing his Catch Seafood Truck for the party.
The restaurant of the award-winning chef and his wife Angela features local organic produce and local sustainable seafood. Rhodes was named a James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef in the Southeast in 2011 and was a contestant on the television show “Top Chef.”
He will be bringing something special in his food truck to pair up with this year’s Silent Night.
There will be a grand opening of the Mother Earth Trading Post retail shop next to the Tap Room and accessible from there, as well as the main entrance on North Street. There will be T-shirts, glassware and other items.
