“Bringing Down the House, Phenomenal Women, Phenomenal Voices,” will show at 7 p.m. Feb. 1, 2014, at the Grainger Hill Performing Arts Center, 300 Park Ave. The show is the third of the performing arts center's four-part Performing Arts Series in 2013-14.
“Bringing Down The House...” showcases the talents of four other women I deeply respect, not only as performers, but for their humanitarian service as well,” said director/producer Sandra Fisher, who has shared her vocal talent in many community causes. “It is their 'inner heart' that also lends to the effectiveness of their performances. Each has a style that is uniquely their own.”
Fisher joins Adrienne C. Sulkey, Jill Suggs Howell, Bonita Burney Simmons and Arlie Honeycutt for a can’t-miss show. This quintet of women will pay tribute to Barbra Streisand, Tammy Wynette, Linda Eder, Kristin Chenoweth, Judy Garland, the Righteous Brothers, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston and also will sing some Disney favorites and Broadway classics.
“No genre of music will be left untouched, from contemporary to inspirational,” Fisher said. “This production will have it all. 'Bringing Down the House' represents some of the best show stopping songs. Our goal is to not only entertain the audience, but to also inspire a new generation of artists.”
