Three more dealers ready for LCC ‘Casino Night’

Lenoir Community College will be hosting its annual Casino Night on Friday, Jan. 30, an event members of the community will not want to miss.  Casino Night will be held on from 7 to 10:30 p.m. in the Culinary Arts Center at LCC. Tables open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person.

Each year, the college hosts numerous events, for the sole purpose of providing students with an education through scholarship funds. Upcoming Foundation events include the Neuse River Music Fest on February 20-21, golf tournaments in both Kinston and Snow Hill during the summer months, bus trips to see musicals at the Durham Performing Arts Center, and numerous other fun happenings for people of all ages. Jeanne Kennedy, executive director for the LCC Foundation, invites you to check out each of these events to find one that interests you.

This year, Bobby Taylor, owner of Greene Ridge Racquet and Fitness Club, is one of seven local “celebrities” who will be dealing at the event.  He is a Snow Hill Commissioner and has served on the boards of numerous local non-profit organizations. Taylor is proud to have served on the Greene County Board of the American Red Cross and is also an active member of the advisory committee for the LCC Greene County location.

Taylor has supported the LCC Foundation for many years, and he is a vital asset to the College.  “I always enjoy Casino Night every year, and this year will be no different.”  When asked to participate as a Celebrity Dealer, Taylor responded, “Count me in!”

Debbie Chused, marketing consultant with Coastal Connections Marketing, has once again agreed to join LCC as a “celebrity” at this year’s event. This will be Chused’s third appearance at LCC’s Casino Night, and when asked what she would like to say to the players, she stated, “My table will certainly be the winning one.”

In previous years, players at Chused’s table received a “kiss,” and she jokingly added, “This year will likely be no different!”

Chused is an active member of our community, and she is involved in several local boards, signifying her commitment to the betterment of the Kinston community. Chused is delighted to help fund scholarship programs for LCC students through participation in Foundation events such as this.

Also joining Casino Night for his first appearance is Dan Sale of Sale Auto Mall in Kinston. When asked about the importance of education in the local community, Sale commented, “I support Lenoir Community College, because they do such a great job in supporting industrial education for our local companies such as Spirit and Sanderson Farms.”

Sale then reflected on a recent community project in downtown Kinston, in which the LCC classes aided in the revitalization efforts by constructing street signs for the downtown area. Sale feels that education through LCC was vital in this, because it involved the entire community.

Sale jokingly added, “I’ll be giving free lessons at the Blackjack table, so be sure to visit me!”

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available and may be purchased by contacting Timothy Maddox, Special Events Coordinator in the LCC Foundation office, at 252-233-6843, or by email at tdmaddox07@lenoircc.edu.  Tickets may also be purchased online at www.lenoircc.edu/casino.
