MOUNT OLIVE | The GQ (Girls’ Quartet) is set to perform at the University of Mount Olive on March 28, in the Hazel Waters Kornegay Assembly Hall located at 207 Wooten St. in Mount Olive at 7:30 p.m. The Recital Series brings students and local residents opportunities to enjoy the finest performers of various musical genres at no cost. There are four performances in total, with two each semester.
When GQ Quartet first started singing together in July of 2011, they knew right away they had something unique. Each voice brought an important quality to the group’s sound. They knew they wanted to try and stay away from traditional a cappella arrangements and explore songs and sounds that were not common. They have since won numerous awards and recently completed their first album at Liquid 5th Studios in Durham.
Admission to the performance is free. For more information about the event, please contact Dr. Bill Ford by email at wford@umo.edu. For more information about the GQ Quartet, please visit www.girlsquartet.com.
