Summer brings courtyard music

SNOW HILL — Summertime means its time to get outside, grab a chair and listen to music. The Greene County Museum is offering just such an event.

The fourth annual Concert in the Courtyard will be held at 7 p.m. June 11, featuring traditional country music by the renowned Malpass Brothers.

When you meet Chris and Taylor Malpass, it does not take long before you realize they are as close to real traditional country music artists as you can get these days. The brothers can be found performing from Eastern North Carolina to Delaware and back to Georgia. Now they are coming to Snow Hill.

The GCM courtyard is in the downtown Historic District at the corner of North Greene and NW Third streets. Bring your own lawn chair. The concert is free and open to the public, but donations will be gratefully received. Soda drinks will be on sale.

If there is rain, the concert will still be held inside the museum. The concert is provided through the Grassroots Grant from the North Carolina Arts Council.

For more information, call 252-747-1999.
