North Lenoir gala set for March 13

The North Lenoir High School drama booster club gala is set for Friday, March 13, at Walnut Creek Country Club.

Events begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour and silent auction, dinner at 7 p.m. with a cabaret show directed by Ray Kennedy. From 9 to 11 p.m., there will be a disc jockey and dancing.

Attire is semi-formal and tickets are $35. Current students may get in for $25.

Proceeds will support the North Lenoir High School production of Peter Pan in April.

Michelle Braxton will emcee and entertain and Luke Vail is the DJ.

Braxton has performed from New York to New Orleans and through out the Carribean. Her love for entertaining has enabled her to share the stage with entertainers from Ben Vereen to Ricky Skaggs.

One of her most treasured memories is making her theater debut as “Miss Mona” in Thalian Halls production of The Best Little Whore House in Texas, under the direction of Ray Kennedy.

Michelle is a native North Carolinian and a graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh.

She currently resides in Fuquay-Varina with her husband, John, and two sons, Grant and Will.
