The Browns are coming to Kinston at 6 p.m. Sunday in the Family Life Center at Westside Free Will Baptist Church, 1205 Lynn Drive.

The Brown family brings three generations of gospel music from Wallace with parents, Frances and Clifton Brown, their two sons, Chris and Jamie, their two daughters-in-law, Teresa and Gail, and four grandchildren.

Frances and Clifton, both vocalists are also accompanied by Jamie with vocal harmony on some songs, while Clifton plays rhythm guitar. Both Jamie and Chris add their talents on the pedal steel guitar, the dobro, banjo, mandolin and bass guitar to produce a rich, smooth country blend of gospel music that is easy to listen to.

Joseph, Chris and Teresa's son, plays the acoustic guitar and the bass guitar on stage with The Browns and enjoys singing. His younger sister, Erin enjoys singing and playing the fiddle on feature songs.
Julie and Sarah are the twin daughters of Jamie and Gail and they love to sing. Sarah plays the acoustic and bass guitars while Julie plays the mandolin.

For many years the children were known as The Little Browns, but they have now changed their name to The Browns II.
The Browns have recorded a variety of albums featuring familiar favorites from the old church hymnal as well as some original songs.
